Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting
MidAmerica St. Louis Airport Public Safety Office combines three emergency response capabilities ARFF, Fire Protection, Security and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Although an Index B airport, MidAmerica's fire fighting capabilities are equal to an Index C airport. At the heart of our response fleet are an Oshkosh T-3000 with 3400 gallons of agent and a T-1500 with 1700 gallons of agent.
MidAmerica St. Louis Airport's EMS capabilities are increased through a Joint Use agreement with neighboring Scott Air Force Base providing additional Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting response capabilities adding two fully equipped fire departments, a state of the art medical center, and fleet of ambulances to MidAmerica's ARFF response arsenal. Additionally, all shifts include EMT personnel and Public Safety Officers trained in First Responder medical techniques.
